Caring for Dementia Carers (2-Day Course)

  • Sainsbury's, Eastern Green Falmouth UK (map)

Caring for Dementia Carers with Promas | Two-day course | 14th July - 15th July | 10:00am – 3:30pm

This course is designed specifically for carers supporting a loved one living with dementia. Whether you're looking for practical guidance, a better understanding of what your person is experiencing, or simply some time in a safe space with people who truly get it, this is for you.

Over the course, you'll explore how dementia affects communication, behaviour, and relationships, and you'll pick up real, practical strategies to help you feel more confident and in control in your caring role. You'll also have the chance to connect with other carers, share your experiences, and know that you're not alone in this.

Together, we'll cover things like:

  • How dementia affects communication, perception, and relationships, and how to adapt

  • Understanding and responding positively to changing behaviours

  • Healthy coping strategies and how to manage stress and conflict

  • The grief process and adjusting to your new normal

  • Contingency planning and knowing when and how to ask for help

  • Connecting you to local community activities and resources to reduce isolation

This isn't just about understanding dementia; it's about helping you look after yourself while you look after someone else.

This course is completely FREE, our partner Promas covers all materials and travel expenses.

Before booking, take a look at our course FAQs at the bottom of this page, which answer the most common questions. If you still need help, please get in touch, and we'll be happy to chat.

We do ask that you take your place seriously. We know life as a carer can be unpredictable, and we completely understand that things come up. But last-minute cancellations can sometimes mean the course can't go ahead for others, and there's a real financial impact for Promas too. So if you do need to cancel, please let Promas know as soon as possible.

Where is this Activity Located?

Both sessions will take place at Sainsbury's, in Penzance.
