Carers Week 2025: Caring About Equality
Carers UK and partner charities have announced the theme 'Caring About Equality’ for Carers Week 2025 which runs from the 9th to the 15th of June.
This year's campaign highlights the disparities faced by unpaid carers across the UK and calls for a fairer society with greater support. We here at Cornwall Carers Service, support this vital call to action.
Each day of the day will feature a highlighted theme for carers, with a number of activities scheduled which will be open to carers across Cornwall.
Our events will offer dedicated opportunities for carers to have one-to-one conversations with our experienced advisors, where they can access tailored information, guidance, and support specific to their caring role. Whether you're new to caring or have been supporting someone for years, these sessions are designed to help you navigate the challenges, discover available services, and feel more confident and supported in your journey.
Supporting carer wellbeing is a key part of Carers Week. Which is why we’re pleased to offer, together with our partners, a variety of wellbeing activities across the week. These sessions aim to help carers manage stress, find calm, and nurture their own health. Click here to see all the events for the week.
Ways to get involved with Carers Week
A message from Carers UK and this years head sponsor
TSB Bank is the lead sponsor of Carers Week 2025, with additional generous support from Regina UK and Centrica.
Helen Walker, Chief Executive of Carers UK, said:
“Caring for a loved one should never be a reason for facing
inequality, but sadly this is a reality for many in the UK.
Unpaid carers are desperate for a break, for better health
and social care provision, financial support and equality in
the workplace. Over half say they need better understanding
and recognition from the public.”
“Carers Week 2025 is a crucial opportunity to increase awareness, highlighting those who provide vital care to family members, friends or neighbours when they need it most. We want to see a future where they have the right support and the same opportunities to lead healthy and financially secure lives alongside their caring role.”
Kate Osiadacz, Head of Responsible Business, TSB, said:
“We are proud to back Caring for Equality to shine a light on the
near six million unpaid carers in the UK who risk falling behind
financially simply for fulfilling their caring responsibilities.
“We have seen first-hand the impact our paid carers leave has
on colleagues who are carers, and would encourage all
businesses to introduce this vital support.”
