Cornwall Carers Service Grants
Cornwall Carers Service work alongside NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board to deliver a range of high-quality support services for unpaid Carers of all ages throughout Cornwall. Our services include, emotional support, information, advice and guidance, statutory assessment, access to grants, community support, carer specific training and dedicated support for all carers (including young carers and young adults).

Carers Resilience Enablement Grant
A grant to aid unpaid informal carers in unforeseen or emergency circumstances that prevents them from fulfilling their caring role, where they do not have the means to provide the resource or meet the expense themselves.
For example:
-The repair or replacement of essential domestic equipment;
-To fund the provision of private care equipment;
-Other urgent domestic need
-To enable a carer and the person they support to access an urgent break in Cornwall where they would otherwise not be able to.
NB: Carers must be referred to this grant and endorsed by either, Cornwall Carers Service or a recognised service supporting carers. Applications must be signed off by a professional from that service. Click for reference support form here.
Applications for the repair or replacement of essential domestic equipment, or for funds for private care equipment, or for an urgent break, or for any other urgent domestic need, will be assessed within 5 days of receipt, providing we have received all relevant documentation.

Memory Activity & Support Groups Grant
This grant can fund memory cafes and other groups that support individuals with memoy impairment. It can award funds towards a group’s running costs, including workshops and activities that enhance the wellbeing of people with memory impairment. It aims to:
– Provide those living with memory impairment access to activities and support
– Assist the development and sustainability of self-support groups
– Support groups to help people to self-manage their health and wellbeing, improve people’s experience of care, reduce social isolation, increase confidence, improve independent living skills and reduce hospital admissions/re-admissions
Groups can apply for up to £1000 per year. New groups can apply for up to £500 towards their start-up costs first, then apply for further funds (up to £500) later.
Groups must have a minimum of 4 members
The grant will fund group running costs, such as room hire and insurance, plus activities to enhance wellbeing.
The grant cannot pay for individual travel expenses; it also cannot pay for food and drink.

Carers Group Grant
The grant can fund groups or organisations, both formal and informal, that provide support to unpaid carers. It aims to:
-Provide carers access to activities and support
-Assist the development and sustainability of self-support groups
- Support groups to help carers to self-manage their health and wellbeing, reduce isolation, increase confidence and improve independent living skills
Groups can apply for up to £1000 per application (max £100 per carer). You may apply more than once per year but your annual total must not exceed £3500. New groups can apply for up to £500 towards their start-up costs first, then apply for further funds later.
