Our Grants for Cornwall Carers
We understand that caring can be unpredictable and challenging. That's why we offer two types of grants to support you:
Carers Resilience Enablement Grant
For those unexpected moments when you need urgent help. Whether it's essential equipment that's broken down, urgent household needs, or an emergency short break, this grant provides fast support when you need it most. Applications are assessed within 5 working days.
Carer & Memory Support Groups Grant
For carers groups and groups including people with memory impairment . This grant helps fund the activities, room hire, and resources that make support groups thrive.
Carers Resilience Enablement Grant
This grant is here to support unpaid carers in unexpected or emergency situations, when costs arise that you can't cover yourself. It's designed to help you continue in your caring role without added financial pressure.
What can the grant cover?
Examples of what the grant can help with:
Repair or replacement of essential household equipment
Other urgent domestic needs
Urgent short break in Cornwall for you and the person you care for (if no other care is available)
Who can apply?
Carers applications must be endorsed by Cornwall Carers Service or recognised professional
Applications must be signed off by a professional from that service
Application Process: Once we receive your completed application and supporting documents, we will assess it within 5 working days. Decisions are made as quickly as possible to make sure you get the support you need.
Already received a grant?
As a requirement from our terms and conditions, carers in receipt of the Carers Resilience Enablement Grant must provide feedback and receipts of purchases. Your feedback helps us improve our support and show funders the difference these grants make to carers' lives.
Carer & Memory Support Groups Grant
This grant provides funding for carer support groups and memory cafés across Cornwall, helping to create vibrant community spaces where carers and people with memory impairment can connect, share experiences, and access activities.
What the grant aims to do:
Provide activities and support for carers and people with memory impairment
Help new and existing self-support groups grow and sustain themselves
Support people to self-manage their health and wellbeing
Reduce social isolation and build confidence
Improve independent living skills
Help prevent hospital admissions or re-admissions
Established Groups
Up to £2,250 per year
Groups must have at least 4 members
Funding available:
New Groups
Optional, additional £500 start-up funding (meaning £2,750 in their first year)
Minimum 4 members required
What it covers:
Room hire
Insurance costs
Workshops and activities
Equipment and materials
What it does not cover:
Individual travel expenses
Food and drink
Who can apply?
Carer support groups or Memory Support Groups (formal or informal) that provide activities and support for unpaid carers or people with memory impairment in Cornwall.
Received funding in the past year?
It is a requirement of this grant that your group provide evidence of spend & feedback for the previous year. If your group received this grant previously, receipts will need to be provided so we know how the funding is being used. We need to know how you used the funding and what impact it's had. Your feedback demonstrates the value of these grants and helps secure future funding for groups like yours.
